Belated..but never the less Merry Xmas

As with all things and this blog we are running a little behind schedule but Clone industries would like to extend belated seasons greetings to all egg lovers out there.

As you can see . We prepared for xmas by filling the fridge full of beer. I must mention that this is the picture of the second load of beer in the fridge..we .. Ahem....neglected to take into account, not only our capacity for beer but also our new friends and neighbours..

Xmas on the trailer park was heralded by a double rainbow...isn't that nice.
Xmas eve was brought to you by the letters M.I.L.L.E.R. and stupid faces care of clone .
The evening started , as most round here do, with the idle threat of BBQ..but Joe your friendly neighbourhood New Yorker.."gets things done"..and we ate like kings a huge mix of pork, steak, chicken and burgers...Followed by a trip up to the parks bar for a few with some of the other locals.
But of course we could't possibly leave it there....Oh no ....we had to go back to our trailer for one more..well...a few more..maybe even a few more than that..put it this way...remember that fridge..empty again!

Oh forgot the other sponsor for the evening. Michelob. Opening techique demonstrated skillfully here by clone.

Nursing hangovers from the past few days. Xmas day was filled with soothing White Russians..MMmmmmm..Milky goodness.
Whilst the morning was taken up dealing with the foriegn office on very important matters of state. We still managed to keep it Creole with our breakfast of Cajun Crab..on bagle with Cream cheese.( a new tradition was started here)

Due to the "oven" being the size of a matchbox we were unable to roast up any decent sized bird..We were forced to improvise..and, as true carnivors, opted for the Steak with Potato and the best stuffing we could find. (see mum. wouldn't say it was the best or you might not make the good stuff for joss again) Crawfish and corn bread..so basically Surf and turf.
Fortunately, we found sprouts and were able to keep the other tradition alive.. fried in butter with maple flavoured bacon...indulgent.!
We are still to eat the dessert of cherry pie as our distended bellies objected.
After several days holed up feeling quite sorry for ourselves ..it was once agin time to venture out into town..The Listings pages were rifled through for a suitable gig and we came across a stonker.
The Palmetto Bug Stompers with (non other than) Washboard Chaz..
Unable to contain our excitement at such an astonishingly titled band we set off with great haste to the D.B.A. Bar on Frenchman st.
This was quite a cool little bar frequented by mainly locals but it also looks like Sunday night is also mother an daughters night.Quite bizarre.
The band were great, their laid back stylings and seemingly improvised set (including complete randoms who just went to the bar for a drink taking their place amongst the band to play clarinet and sing at points)..just to add to this atmosphere. The bass player turned up half way through the second song..it was highly amusing seeing him try to slip on stage unnoticed carrying a double bass...well sneaky!
Washboard Chaz is Joss' new idol..sleeply scratching away at his washboard adorned with shop bells and other odd sound making devices clearly found in the street. He provided the perfect accompanyment to the bouncy Jazz played by his Bug Stompers.
As an aside: also quite cool to see . that people go out to dance..not like in a club. but properly.in pairs...mostly of the opposite sex...some really cool moves...some...well.....Mr Stripy shirt missed the point and the beat ..Bless

Egg rating: a FAT minus 5 to a boozy minus 6 egg all week..hows that for pure joy!
